  Peterboro- William C. Dorrance, 84, of Oxbow Road, died Tuesday, April 18, 
2000, at the Community Memorial Hospital, Hamilton. 
  He was born Jan. 27, 1916 in Peterboro, the son of John L. and Emma 
Campbell Dorrance and was a life resident of the area. 
  He was a graduate of Peterboro High School. 
  Bill married the former Irene Cahoy on Sept. 22, 1938, in Clockville. Mrs. 
Dorrance predeceased him on Jan. 7, 1993. 
  Mr. Dorrance worked at SUNY-Morrisville from 1962 until his retirement in 
1978; and had also been a self-employed dairy farmer. 
  Mr. Dorrance was a member of the Peterboro United Methodist Church, the 
Free and Accepted Mason Lodge No. 616 of Cazenovia, and was a  member of the 
Smithfield Fire Department. He was also a founder and Past Master of the 
Smithfield Grange No. 1595. 
  He had also served on the Peterboro Cemetery Association Board of Trustees 
for many years. 
  Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and Lewis Graham of 
Peterboro, Sharon and Charles Kofira of Smithfield Flats; one brother, 
Roderick Dorrance of Bradenton, Fla.; six grandchildren, one great-grand-
daughter and three great-grandsons.
