VERONA BEACH   William B. "Bill" Arnold, 91, of Oneida Street, died 
Wednesday, May 20, 1998, in Rome Memorial Hospital, after becoming ill at 
his residence on Tuesday. 
 
He was born May 10, 1907, in Oneida, the son of Henry and Margaret Ritter 
Arnold. 
 
He was a resident of Verona Beach for more than 40 years. Mr. Arnold had been
an auto mechanic for most of his life and also had been a watch and lock 
repairman. 
 
At one time he owned the Lake Shore Hotel in South Bay. Mr. Arnold had 
attended Oneida Schools and was a member of the Oneida Elks Lodge. 
 
He was married to the former Lucy Hoffman who died in 1981. 

Surviving are: One stepson, John Parrott of Sylvan Beach; one stepdaughter, 
Henrietta Herdman of Ocala, Fla.; two brothers, Arthur Arnold of Durhamville 
and Charles Arnold of Oneida; nine step-grandchildren, Cindy Marsala, Carol 
Swiernik, Dennis Swiernik, Debra Newman) Kitty Skellham, Kelly Hanna, Thomas 
Hanna, John Parrott and Scott Parrott; four step-great-grandchildren, and 
several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a stepdaughter, Roberta 
Skellham in January 1992.
