ONEIDA - Vivian M. Hollenbeck, 80, 18 8 Grand St., died Friday morning, Feb.
4, 2000, in the Oneida Healthcare Center, where she had been a patient for
the past week.
She was born on March 6, 1919, in Stockbridge, the daughter of Reuben and
Lena Perkins Snyder. She was a lifelong resident of the area. Mrs. Hollenbeck
was educated in Stockbridge schools. She married M. Robert Hollenbeck on Aug.
28, 1936, in Stockbridge. Mr. Hollenbeck died on Jan. 11, 1970.
Until her recent illness, Mrs. Hollenbeck Was employed, with the Oneida Daily
Dispatch, in the motor route delivery department and previously had been
employed with the former Oneida Heater Co. Inc. She was a member of the
Oneida Citadel of the Salvation Army.
Surviving are four sons and three daughters-in-law, Robert and Rose Hollen-
beck of Clockville, LeRoy "Bumm" and Jessie Hollenbeck, Sr., Charles and
Alice Hollenbeck and Bruce Hollenbeck and his friend, Chris Schmidtka, all of
Oneida; three daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Eddie Winchell, Verna
and Bill Thornton and Sharon "Meme" and Eugene Emmons Jr., all of Oneida; two
sisters, Marge McAllister and Betty Snyder, both of Oneida; 18 grand-
children; 30 great grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several
nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Kenneth Hollenbeck Sr., in
November of 1983; one great-grandson, Robert "BooBoo" Thornton on Oct. 1,
1993, and a sister, Marian Van Patten, on Jan. 8, 1976.
