ONEIDA - Viola M. Rissman, 8 8, formerly of 115 North Willow Street, died 
Thursday evening, Jan. 27, 2000, in the Extended Care Facility of the Oneida 
Healthcare Center, where she resided for the past ten years. 

She was born on Aug. 20, 1911, in Syracuse, the daughter of Eugene and Mertie 
Merthiew. Mrs. Rissman was raised and educated in Canastota. She married Kurt 
Rissman on Nov. 11, 1932, in Canastota. Mr. Rissman died on Aug. 8, 1974. 
Mrs. Rissman was a member of the Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church. 

Surviving are two sons and one daughter-in-law, William and Greta Rissman of 
Chicago and Fred Rissman of Verona; two daughters and sons-in-law Clara and 
William Cheseboro and Helga and Arthur Closson, all of Oneida; 10 grand-
children; and several great-grandchildren.
