  Sontore J. Costanzo, 85, of Tampa Bay Fla. and a former Chittenango resi-
dent, died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 1999, at his home following a brief illness. 
 He was born on Feb. 19, 1914, in Brooklyn, the son of Frank and Pietrina 
Vassallo Costanzo. 
  Sontore had spent his early years in the Chittenango area, where he and his
family were onion farmers. He later moved to Syracuse, where he worked as a 
security guard for the former Easy Washer Co. He later moved to Plantation, 
Fla., where he started a pool service business and was voted Businessman of 
the Year. Upon his retirement, he moved to Tampa Bay, Fla. 
  He married the former Anita Palombi of Canastota. 
  Surviving are his wife; two sons and daughter-in-law, James and Terri 
Costanzo and Larry and Lori Costanzo, all of Tampa Bay; two brothers and 
sisters-in-law, Samuel and Vera Costanzo and Dean and Santa Costanzo all of 
Chittenango; two sisters, Connie Padden of Syracuse and Lucia Garofalo of 
Kirkville; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
