  Patrick H. Delaney, 71 a well known resident of the Sixth ward and the oldest active business man in 
the city, died yesterday afternoon about 2 o'clock at his home, 42 East Elm Street, after an illness of 
eight weeks.  For 48 years he had been in continuous business in this city.  (P.H. Delaney, Grocer). 
 
  Surviving are five sons, Timothy B. and Charles A. Delaney of Rome, Edward Delaney of Utica, Emmons C. 
and Thomas H. Delaney of this city; two daughters, Miss Agnes F. Delaney and Mrs. Alice C. Hall of this 
city; one brother, Edward Delaney of Eaton, and two sisters, Mrs. John Mace and Mrs. Alice MacCaully of 
Watervliet. 
 
  He was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church. 
 
  Funeral services will be conducted Saturday morning at 9 o'clock from the late home and at 9:30 o'clock
from St. Patrick's Church, the Rev. John H. McGraw officiating.  Interment will be made in St. Patrick's 
Cemetery.
