Miss Nellie Mae Curtiss, 59, of 220 W. Elm St., died Monday evening at the Upstate Medical Center,
Syracuse, after a long illness.
Born in Morrisville May 29, 1914, she was the daughter of Orra and Nellie Crawford Curtis. She has
lived in Oneida for the past 30 years.
Miss Curtis had been employed by Oneida Ltd. for 26 years, retiring several years ago.
She was a World War II Women's Army Corps veteran, serving in England. She was a member of the First
United Methodist Church, Sherrill Post 230, American Legion, The Women's Auxillary of Nest 2210, Lady
Owls and the Oneida Ltd. Retirement Club.
Surviving are five sisters, Mrs. Naz (Nelva) Fratini and Mrs. margaret Winn, both of Oneida, Mrs.
Marion McBurney, and Mrs. Judy Church, both of Syracuse and Mrs. Howard (Mary) Pickard of Canastota; four
brothers, Richard and Byron, both of Canastota, Burroughs of Oneida and Harry Curtis of Madison; and
several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
