Mary Towslee Campbell.

Mrs. Mary Towslee Campbell died at her home near Sherburne, N.Y., on Thursday of last week [July 17,
1907].

Many years ago she spent the winter in Hudson with her aunt and cousin, Mesds. Scarritt and Steuerwald,
and formed the acquaintance of some of our people.

She was gifted to an unusual degree with those rare talents which make a womans love the center of happy
home life and create true friendships. It is indeed a sad ending of a life which had scarce reached its
noonday, and sincere is the grief of the many who had learned to love her. She leaves a husband and
son, a mother and sister, and many relatives and friends.

The funeral was held on Sunday. Mrs. Scarritt, Mrs. Steuerwald and J. A. Steuerwald, of this city, were
present.

After much suffering she is at rest; and in a quiet country churchyard is sleeping peacefully by the
side of the father whom she so dearly loved. But the little plat in the village of the dead, whose
mounds are kissed by the beams of the rising sun over the beautiful hills, is indeed sacred, for the
daughter, wife, mother, sister and friend [who] scattered blessings while living, and contributed her
portion to the happiness of those who are left to mourn.
