Mildred M. Rockwell
Mildred M. Rockwell, 91, of East Lake Road, died on Saturday, Oct. 30,
1999, at Rochester General Hospital following a brief illness.
She was born on March 25, 1908, in East Meredith, the daughter of Henry and
Minnie Amanda Cuyler Moore.
On March 31, 1931, in Earville, she married Garrett W. Rockwell, Sr. Mr.
Rockwell, her husband of 42 years, died on March 17, 1973.
Mrs. Rockwell attended Hamilton Central School and was a graduate of
Oneonta State University. She was a teacher for the Oneida City School
District.
Mrs. Rockwell also had served as the Town Clerk of the town of Madison for
17 years. She was a member of the Hamilton Rebekah's, the Pleasant Valley
Grange of Madison, the Madison United Methodist Church, its women's
association, United Methodist Women, and was a long-time teacher at the
Church's Youth Christian Education Program.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Jeffrey Mariano of
Clearwater, Fla.; three sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Elizabeth
Rockwell of Rochester, Garrett Jr. and Mary Jane Rockwell of Ballston Spa and
Gerald and Judy Rockwell of Hamilton; 13 grandchildren, and 25 great-
grandchildren.
