Mary F. Behr 
 
  Mary F. Behr, 77, formerly of 246 E. Walnut St., died Thursday evening, 
Oct. 1, 1998, in the Extended Care Facility of Oneida Healthcare Center, 
where she had been a patient  since July of 1998. 
  Mrs. Behr was born on Nov. 30, 1920, in Syracuse, the daughter of John and
Helen Williams Mahar. 
  She was married to Joseph W. Behr in 1940 in Oneida. Mr.Behr died Oct. 11,
1979. 
  Mrs. Behr was formerly associated with her late husband in the operation 
and ownership of Joe Behr's Grocery Store for more than 35 years. 
  She also had been a police matron for the city of Oneida for 13 years and 
was employed with the Lincoln Bank for more than eight years, retiring in 
1984. 
  Mrs. Behr was a member of St. Joseph's Church of Oneida and the Court of 
Our Lady Catholic Daughters of America No. 1250. 
  Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, JoAnne and Owen Butler of 
Rochester; three sons and daughters-in-law Daniel and Sara Behr, David and 
Patricia Behr, all of Oneida and Jeffrey and Cheryl Behr of Morrisville; six 
grandchildren Erin Mooney, Kimberly Behr, Kerry Adams, Deborah Behr, Brenda 
Behr, and Adam Behr; seven step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; 
and 10 step-great-grandchildren.
