Mabel Allen
Mabel Allen, 75, of 312 Mott St., died Friday afternoon, Oct. 9, 1998 in
the Extended Care Facility of the Oneida Healthcare Center, where she had
been a patient for the past six weeks.
She was born in Cleveland, on Sept.1, 1923, the daughter of Crawford E.
and Violet Lamson Peck. She was a resident of Oneida for the past 59 years
and was educated in the Cleveland schools.
She married Leon W. "Bill" Allen in West Monroe on Oct. 1,1939. Mr. Allen
died on March 21, 1978.
Mrs. Allen was employed for many years with the former Alfred's Bargain
City of Oneida as a salesclerk and was employed with the former Oneida City
Hospital, now known as the Oneida Healthcare Center.
She was of the Methodist faith.
Surviving are two sons and daughter-in-laws, Donald W. and Linda Allen of
Verona and James J. Bonnie Allen of Canastota; one daughter and son-in-law,
Judy and Theodore Zabele of Vernon Center; one brother, Clyde Peck of
Cleveland,N.Y.; four sisters, Mrs. James (Fern) Tanner of Cleveland, Mrs.
Arthur (Evelyn) Auringer of Constantia, Mrs. Olin ( Phyllis) Clinch of
Oneida and Mrs. Henry (June) Kikta of Verona; seven grandchildren, Laurie
Cawley, David Zabele, Susan Zabele, Donald Allen, Terri Allen, Julie Carroll
and Jeffrey Allen; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
