  Verona - Laurence S. "Gramps" Sarandrea Sr., 90, of 5974 Blackmans Corners 
Road, and formerly of Linden Street, Oneida, died peacefully Thursday 
evening, Dec. 9, 1999, with his family by his side, after a brief illness. 
  He was born on May 20, 1909, in Wheelersville, Pa., the son of James Thomas
and Della DeSantis Sarandrea. Mr. Sarandrea was educated and graduated from 
Canastota schools. 
  He married Anna H. Latteri on November 27, 1937 in St. Patrick's Church, 
Oneida. They resided in Oneida for more than 50 years, before moving to 
Verona in 1997. Mr. and Mrs. Sarandrea enjoyed sixty-two years of marriage 
together before her passing on Oct. 7, 1998. 
  Prior to his retirement in 1973, he was employed as a machinist with 
Oneida Ltd. for 35 years. Mr. Sarandrea was a communicant of St. Patrick's 
Church, a member of the Amateur Radio Club, Community Associated Clubs, and 
Oneida Limited Retirement Club. He thoroughly enjoyed the time he spent with 
his family, especially with grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. 
  Surviving are two sons and daughter-in-laws, Laurence S. and Kaye Sarandrea
Jr. of Verona and James T. and Stella Sarandrea of Latham; three grand-
children, Lori Sarandrea-Hill of Bellvue, Neb., Patrick Sarandrea and his 
wife, Helen, of Clinton, and Jimi Sarandrea of Killington, Vt.; and two 
great-grandchildren, Joseph Mendoza and Christie Sarandrea.
