  Luella M. Smith 
 
  Luella M. Smith, 82, of 7131 Lorraine Drive, died Sunday, Aug. 8, 1999, at 
her home, following a lengthy illness. 
  She was born June 8, 1917, in Bainbridge, the daughter of George and 
Florence Simmon Shaver. 
  Mrs. Smith had spent her early years in Bainbridge, attending schools 
there. She had lived in Cortland, Liberty, Cazenovia, Chittenango and nine 
years in Erieville, before moving to Canastota in 1991. 
  She married Edward A. Smith on July 12, 1935, in Greene. 
  Surviving are her husband; one daughter, Marjorie Finn of Canastota; one 
brother, Kenneth Shaver of Bainbridge; two sisters, Gladys Pettis of 
Wallingford, Conn and Florence Dellio of Endicott; four grandchildren, Mark 
Finn, Maureen Stagnitti, Margaret Bennett and Michael Finn, four great-
grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
