Louis E. Breed
Louis E. Breed, 86, formerly of North Main Street, died Wednesday, Oct. 27,
1999, at Crouse Hospitals, Syracuse, following a brief illness.
He was born Aug. 23, 1913, in Cuyler, the son of Louis and Cecile Walker
Breed.
Mr. Breed came to Canastota as a young boy, attending the Indian Opening
and South Bay schools. He had lived in the Canastota area most of his life.
He had worked for A.W. Kincaid, Canastota, as a well driller for 30 years,
and later for Barabos Construction Company, Canastota, for 15 years, retiring
in 1978.
Mr. Breed married the former Irma M. Budd on Aug. 24, 1935, in Whitelaw.
Mrs. Breed died on May 15, 1988.
Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law, Muriel and Carmen Giufre of
Alexandria Bay, Mary Lou and Carmen Cerio of Satellite Beach, Fla. and
Cynthia and Daniel Sgroi of Oneida; one brother, Clifton Breed of Central
Square; two sisters, Mrs. LeRoy (Thelma) Bacon of New Hartford and Marguerite
Cowan of Hastings; five grandchildren, Caren Edl, Cristina Giufre, Stevan
Cerio, Gregory Cerio and Christopher Cerio; seven great-grandchildren; and
several nieces and nephews.
