Kenneth W. Jackson, 74, of 251 Colonial Circle and a former
Sherrill resident, died early Monday morning, July 6, 1998,
at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica, following a short
illness. Mr. Jackson was born July 11, 1923, in Utica, the
son of Stanley and Celia Luczak Jackson. He attended Sherrill
High School and was a graduate of the former Mohawk Valley
Technical Institute of New Hartford.
During World War II, Mr. Jackson served with the U.S. Navy
and received two commendations for aerial combat duty in the
South Pacific.
Mr. Jackson was married to the former Frances Carter. Prior
to his retirement in 1983, Mr. Jackson was a production
manager with General Electric of Utica. He was a member of
the Sherrill American Legion Post No. 230 and the Loyal Order
of the Moose No. 450 of Marcy.
Surviving are one daughter and a son-in-law, Jennifer and
Joseph Butler of Oneida; two sons and one daughter-in-law,
Christopher Jackson of Deansboro and Carter and Tina Jackson
of Clinton; six grandchildren, Jim Butler, Melissa Jackson,
Randi Jackson, Carrie Jackson, Derek Jackson, and Lauren
Jackson; and several nieces and nephews.
