Helen F. Reichel 
 
  Helen F. Reichel, 88, a former Canastota and Syracuse resident, died 
Thursday, June 3, 1999, at the Luther Community, Grand Rapids, Mich. 
  She was born Aug.24, 1910, in Fayetteville, the daughter of James and Nina 
Smith French. 
  Mrs. Reichel was raise in Syracuse, graduating from Nottingham High 
School, Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and Syracuse University. Mrs. 
Reichel had been school nurse for Hamilton schools for two years and later 
for the Syracuse City School District for 15 years, retiring in 1968. She 
had lived in Canastota from 1963-1996, when she moved to Michigan. 
  She had been an active member of the First Baptist Church of Canastota. 
  Mrs. Reichel was a member of the Liverpool-Baldwinsville Chapter No. 219 
Order of the Eastern Star. 
  She married Robert Reichel on June 26,1936,in Liverpool. Mr. Reichel died 
Oct.14, 1993. 
  Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Lynn E. and Judith Reichel of 
Marshfield, MA.; one daughter and son-in-law Judith and Ronald Heidrich of 
Grand Rapids Mich.; five grandchildren Scott Heidrich, Cynthia Swymeler, 
Kristen Moriarty, Keather Reichel and Kelly Reichel; four great-grand-
children as well as several nieces and nephews.
