Frederick H. DuFour
Frederick H. DuFour, 83, of Oneida, died at Crouse Community Hospital, on
Friday, Oct.8, 1999.
He was a graduate of Oneida High School, Central City Business Institute
and a partner of the Ackerman-DuFour Insurance Company.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving as a Chief Petty Officer in the
U.S. Navy and was stationed in Africa and Sicily.
Mr. DuFour was a past exulted ruler and 43-year member of the Oneida Elks
Lodge.
Mr. DuFour belonged to several other organizations, including the JCC,
Moose Clubs, Owls Club and the GOP City Committee.
He was former alderman for the city of Oneida and he was a member of the
First Baptist Church of Oneida.
Mr. DuFour was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing, hunting and traveling.
Most importantly he was devoted to his family. We'll all miss Poppy.
He was predeceased by his wife, Rita in 1992.
Surviving are his son, and daughter-in-law, Frederick and Susan DuFour of
Perryville; his daughter and son-in-law, Priscilla and Douglas Vogel of
Utica; his daughter, Barbara DuFour of Binghamton; his grandchildren,
Elizabeth, Emily and Abigail DuFour, Daphne Simon, Colin and Alexander Vogel
and Casey and Derek Johnson; and one great-grandchild, Cynthia Vogel.
