  Ella Foster Dow 
 
  Ella Foster Dow, 73, died Sunday, Aug. 8, 1999, at her home. 
  She was born Jan. 20, 1926, the daughter of Albert H. and Pearl Vreeland 
Foster in Madison County, New York. 
  She graduated from Stockbridge Vally High School in 1944. She attained a 
bachelor's degree in home economics from Syracuse University in June of 1948.
  She went on to become a registered dietition. She did her internship at 
Peter Brent Brigham Hospital in Boston from 1949 to 1950. She went on to work
as dietitian at Hitchcock Clinic and Matthew Thorton Clinic. 
  She married Prescott Robinson Dow on Nov. 6, 1954. 
  Mrs. Dow had numerous hobbies including bird watching, classical music, 
cooking and travel. She participated in many volunteer activities. Most 
recently she provided nutritional counseling to pregnant women who were 
unable to afford her professional services and she helped students at the 
Mount Vernon Elementary School. 
  Surviving are her husband; one son and daughter-in-law, David and Laura, 
two sisters, Clara Belle and Alma.
