Ethel Ella Becker 
 
  Ethel Ella Becker, 96, of 412 W. Lewis St., died Saturday, Sept. 12,1998, 
at the Oneida Healthcare Center following a lengthy illness.  
  She was born July 11, 1902, in Canastota, the daughter of Arthur and Cora 
Heinz Strough. 
  Mrs. Becker had lived in the Canastota area all of her life, and had 
attended the Canastota Schools. 
  She had worked for Diemolding Corp. in Canastota for more than 40 years, 
retiring in 1965. 
  Mrs. Becker hasd been well known for her hand-made dolls and many cakes 
she had made over the years. 
  She married John Becker in 1920 in Canastota. Mr. Becker died  in 1941. 
  Mrs. Becker had been a member of the United Church of Canastota. 
  Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Emma Becker of 
Canastota; one sister, Dorothy Hatt of Wallingford, Conn.; seven grand-
children; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. 
Becker was predeceased by two sons, Jack Becker, who died in 1985, and Alden 
Richard Becker, who died in 1996.
