    Ernestine B. Sweet 
  
 Ernestine B. Sweet, 89, 160 Willow Place, died Saturday, March 6, 1999, in 
the Oneida Healthcare Center, where she had been a medical patient for the 
past 12 days. 
 She was born on August 26, 1909 in Higginsville, the daughter of Thomas and 
Lillie La Grange Butler. She was a resident of Sherrill for the past 35 years,
moving from Oneida Castle. She was a graduate of Oneida High School. 
 She married Jesse J. Sweet on August 29, 1932, in St. Paul's Evangelical 
Church, Oneida. Mr. Sweet died on December 6, 1996.
 Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Sweet was employed in the Special Sales Division 
of Oneida Ltd. She was a member of Cochran Memorial Presbyterian Church 
and the Presbyterian Church and the Presbyterian Women, the Oneida Limited 
Retirement Club, the Community Associated Clubs the American Association of 
Retired Persons, Oneida Chapter 3328, the Order of the Eastern Star, Silver 
Star Chapter No. 21 and was a former member of the Golden Rule Class of St. 
Paul's Church. 
 Surviving are two sons, Jesse J. Sweet Jr. of Sherrill and Leon M. Sweet of 
New York Mills; four grandchildren, Stephen Sweet, Deborah Sweet, Eric Sweet 
and Kimberly Sweet; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
