HAMILTON — Doris E. Ramsdell Albro, 81, of Milford Street, died Saturday, May 
29, 1999, at the Oneida Healthcare Center Extended Care Facility, Oneida. 
 
She was born Nov. 6, 1917, in Brookfield, the daughter of Norva and Stella 
Cook Ramsdell. 
 
She was a lifetime resident of the Hamilton area and was a graduate of 
Hamilton High School. 
 
On May 8, 1937, she married William R. Albro in East Hamilton.

For several years, the Albros owned and operated a dairy farm. Mrs. Albro had
also been a wallpaper hanger in many area homes and had done hairdressing 
from her home,, 
 
Mr. and Mrs. Albro enjoyed playing music together in a parlor band at local 
functions. 
 
She enjoyed baking and teaching her grandchildren to play cards. Mrs. Albro 
was a member of the Eaton Hamilton United Methodist Church, a past member of 
the Order of Eastern Star of Hamilton and the Home Bureau of Hubbardsville. 
 
Surviving are her husband of Hamilton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Darlene
and Carl Harris of South Hamilton and Judith "Judy" and Robert Peach of 
Hamilton; seven grandchildren, Amy Putnam, Jody Palmer and Wayne Harris, all 
of Hubbardsville, Vicki Griffin of Hamilton Center, Lori Moon of North 
Pitcher, Jeffrey Brustad of Yonkers and Julie Brustad of Oneida; 14 great-
grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son,
William Bruce Albro in 1981.
