Clarence W. Allen Sr. 
 
  Clarence W. Allen Sr., 58, of Briggs Bay Road, Canastota, died Saturday, 
Dec. 26, 1998, at the Oneida Healthcare Center, Oneida. 
  He was born on June 8, 1940 in Chittenango, the son of Jay and Cora 
DeGroat Allen. 
  He lived in the Canastota area 27 years. 
  Mr. Allen was a mechanic for 30 years at Keen Muffler & Brake, Syracuse, 
retiring in 1991. 
  His wife, Joyce A. Allen, died in 1996. 
  Surviving are one stepdaughter, April Tallman of Baldwinsville; one son, 
Clarence W. "Beaver" Allen Jr. of Blossvale; one sister, Shirley Devendorf 
of Chittenango; three brothers, Russell of Canastota, Floyd of LaFayette 
and Leroy of West Monroe; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and 
several nieces and nephews.
