Herbert Battey Dies at age 79 
 
  B. Herbert Battey, 79, of Morrisville, died yesterday at his home here 
after a short illness. 
  He was born Jan. 19, 1886 in Morrisville, the son of Clarence and Margaret 
DeWitt Battey. He was an interior decorator and a carpenter by trade. 
  A member of the Morrisville Methodist Church, he was a charter member of 
the Morrisville Grange and also was a member of Morrisville Lodge 658, F. & 
A.M. 
  Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Florence Yearly of Morrisville and Mrs. 
Perl Case of Sheds; and one brother, John C. Battey of Oneida. 
  Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Charles D. Barker 
Funeral Home, Morrisville, the Rev. Robert S. Carpenter, paster of the 
Morrisville Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Morrisville 
Cemetery. 
  Friends may call at the funeral home tomorrow from 7 to 9 pm. Masonic 
services will be conducted at 7:30 p. m. tomorrow.
