Bernard E. Duffy
Bernard E. Duffy, 82, of Quarry Road, died Sunday, Sept. 5, 1999, at the
Oneida Healthcare Center Extended Care Facility, following a lengthy illness.
He was born on Dec. 17, 1916, in Cazenovia, the son of Milton and Bertha
Emhoff Duffy.
Mr. Duffy spent his early years in Cazenovia and Weedsport, graduating from
Weedsport High School in 1933.
He lived in Perryville for more than 50 years.
He had worked as a tree surgeon with Davey Tree Company in Syracuse for 30
years, retiring in 1966, following an injury.
Mr.Duffy was a World War II veteran serving overseas with the U.S. Army.
He had been a member of the Perryville United Methodist Church.
Mr. Duffy married Helen F. Zartman on March 16, 1942, in Columbus, Ohio.
Surviving are his wife; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Michael and
Toni Duffy of Syracuse, Merton Duffy of Chittenango; three daughters and two
sons-in-law, Judith Duffy of Rochester, Yvonne (Smith) Blanchard and Scott
Blanchard of Canastota and Michele and Thomas Frank of Webster; one brother,
his twin, Gaynard Duffy of Sheds; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren
and several nieces and nephews.
