  Arlene G. Candee 
 
  Arlene G. Candee, 80, of 356 Genessee St., died Wednesday morning, Oct. 20,
1999, at her residence, following a brief illness. 
  She waas born on Dec. 30, 1918, in Oneida, the daughter of William and 
Zelma Thurston Greelish. A lifelong resident of Oneida and Durhamville, Mrs. 
Candee was a graduate of Oneida High School. 
  She married Norman O. Candee on Nov. 20, 1941 in the First United Methodist
Church of Oneida. Mr. Candee died on March 12, 1998. 
  Prior to her retirement in 1981, Mrs. Candee was employed as a secretary 
with Troop D, New York State Police in Oneida, and previously was employed 
with the former W. T. Grant Co., the former National Casket Co., and the 
former Griffiss Air Force Base. She was active in various quilt guilds and 
antique collector doll organizations. 
  Mrs. Candee was of the Methodist faith, attending St. Paul's United 
Methodist Church. 
  Surviving are one daughter and her husband, Kathleen and Robert Harradine 
of Pittsford; two sisters, Mrs. Charles (Madeline) Osborne of Oneida Castle 
and Mrs. LeRoy (Evelyn) Allen of Durhamville; three nieces who were raised by
Mr. and Mrs. Candee after the death of their parents, and their husbands, Jo 
Ann and Roger Kelsey of Latrobe, Pa., Marie and John Schmutz of San Antonio 
and Ann Snyder of Oneida; one brother-in-law, Robert Parker of Oneida; one 
sister-in-law, Gwendolyn Harle of Cornwall; three grandchildren, Donna 
Harradine of Silver Springs, Md., Kristine Harradine of Chicago and Richard 
and his wife, Michelle Harradine, also of Chicago; and several nieces and 
nephews.
