Van Vechten burying ground at the Van Vechten 1690 House. This is located at the end of Suburban Way (Town 176). Burying ground about 200 feet behind house on a rise of ground. Property where burying ground is, is now owned by Mrs. W. Pollock. Burying ground is starting to grow up to brush and trees. Most stones standing.

In Memory of Samuel Washington, son of Rachel and Teunis Van Vechten died Oct. 1, 1826 age 5 yrs, 11 mo 18 days.

In Memory of Samuel Van Vechten died Feb 12, 1813 aged 70 yrs, 4 mo, 14 days.

Revolutionary War Soldier, Samuel Van Vechten, Capt. 11th Regt. Albany Co. Militia, b. September 29, 1742, d. February 12, 1813

William Schuneman Van Vechten born Oct 15, 1815 died Jan 9, 1819.

Anna Mariah Van Vechten born Aug 11, 1821 died Sept 19, 1826.

Catherine Judeth Van Vechten born Sept 18, 1818 died Sept 30, 1826.

John Van Vechten died Feb. 3, 1879 aged 93 yrs, 2 mo, 10 days.

The grave of Eleanor Schuneman, wife of John Van Vechten born June 4, 1793 died Oct 2, 1827 aged 31 yrs, 3 mo, 28 days.

Jacob Van Vechten died April 30, 1800 aged 58 yrs, 4 mo, 18 days. (This face of this stone has flaked off - all that remains is Jac.......n)

Teunis Van Vechten died April 3, 1785 aged 78 yrs, 2 days.

In Memory of Judea Ten Broeck, wife of Teunis Van Vechten died March 8, 1783 aged 60 yrs, 4 mo, 27 days.

F. A. Gallt in his book "Dear Old Greene County" lists a stone W. Van Orden died Oct 23, 1777, do not see it there at this date. Also note that Samuel Washington, Anna Mariah and Catherine Judeth all young children died within a couple of weeks of each other. W.S.
