Know all men by these Presents that I Samuel Magee of the Town of Cats Kill in the County of Greene and State of New York For and in consideration of the sum of Fifty and five Dollars to me in hand paid by Jacob Bogardus of the same place, the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge. Have bargained and Sold and by these presents Do bargain and sell unto the said Jacob Bogardus, his Heirs and assigns, A certain Negroe Boy Named Tom who was born on the seventh day of January in the year of our Lord 1807 of a Negroe woman a slave of mine which Negroe Boy is to be Emmancipated at the age of twenty eight years. To have and to hold the said Negroe Boy unto the said Bogardus for and during the Term aforesaid and to his Heirs and Assigns and I the said Samuel Magee for myself, my Executors and Administrators. The services of the said Negroe Boy for and during the term aforesaid. Unto the said Jacob Bogardus and his assigns and against all and every Person and Persons whatsoever. Shall and will warrant and for ever defend by these Presents. in Witness I have hereunto set my hand and seal the 29th day if April in the Year 1814.

For and in consideration of the natural affection I bear to my daughter Pauline Bogardus, I do by their presents make over and transfer the services I am entitled to by Law of the Negroe Boy Tom within named. To the said Pauline and to her assigns until he arrives at the age of Twenty Eight years. Witness my hand and Seal the seventh day of January 1820.
