Livingston House, Athens. Since the history of Athens was written, the old Livingston House was burned on the night of the 28th of December 1883. This house which stood on the bank of the river about a mile north of Murderer's Creek, on the site of the old Provoost house, was built by John R. Livingston about 1800.
