We
do hereby certify that on Tuesday Evening Dec 11th 1832 there was a
regular meeting held in the Village of Athens Greene Co. N Y at the Kings school
house notice thereof having been given fifteen days and upon two successive
Sundays previous to the Baptist Church and Congregation for the purpose of
electing three trustees as provided for by law
- see revised statutes Vol
3 page 294 whereupon the following members of said church were successively
declared duly elected Vis Ethan S.
Fox, John Sanderson and Henry Delanoy after which the said trustees elect
drew for their rotation in office where it was found that John Sanderson should
stand for three years, Ethan S. Fox
for two years and Henry Delanoy for one year. It is also understood that the
name or title of the said trustees
or their successor4s may forever be known by the The First Babtist Church and
Congregation of Athens".

1833 personally appeared before me
William Tolley one of the Judges of the County Courts for said County of Greene.
William Richards and William J. Coffin to me well known to be the same
persons who executed the within Certificate of Election and who severally
acknowledged, that they signed, sealed and delivered the same as their free and
voluntary act and deed for the uses and purposes therein mentioned
and I having examined the same and finding therein no material
alternations or erasures do allow the same to be Recorded
