Palenville
Village
Cemetery
This cemetery is located in the Village of Palenville, Town of Catskill and is in poor condition. Many stones have fallen and encroaching vegetation has taken over part of the older sections of the cemetery. The cemetery is off Birchwood Park.

Anything in parentheses is a guess on my part as best I can ascertain as to what
may have been written on the stone; also understand there may be through
the years of wear and neglect on these stones a mis-interpretation of the
numbers 5 for 3, 3 for 8,
1 for 4 or 7.
[* ] indicates this information was taken from records that Mrs. Edward K. Price of Larchmont had recorded -date unknown.

Found four stones that were lying on the ground covered by
years of decaying leaves and growth.
ways down:
Near the end of the old section, behind Row 6 all by itself:
William Edwards CO C 70th NY INF 1817-1878 (has G.A.R. flag marker)
The following is a list of stones I could not locate, these were recorded by Mrs. Edward K. Price, year unknown. I have noticed that Mrs. Price did not put the date of birth, instead she would subtract the age and place the year of birth, not always correct as death sometimes comes before the next birth date. Also please note there did appear to be a method by how/where/what/who was recorded as entire rows were not done, in some cases just a stone here or there, there was no notation as to where these plots were in relationship with one another.
