This indenture made the twenty ninth day of March one thousand eight hundred forty five between ISAAC VAN SCHAACK and POLLY, his wife of the Town of Coxsackie, County of Greene and State of New York of the first part and BENJAMIN BRIGGS of the city and county of New York of the second part. Witnesseth, that the said parties of the first part in consideration of one thousand dollars lawful money of the United States to them duly paid, have sold and by these presents do grant and convey to the said party of the second part. All that certain farm of land lying and being in the town of Coxsackie aforesaid and bounded as follows to wit: north by land of LEONARD LAMPMAN, on the east by lands of LEONARD LAMPMAN and JACOB G. D. BRANDOW, JOHN KENNEDY and land occupied by ANDREW B. HOUGHTALING, south by land occupied by said HOUGHTALING and land occupied by LEONARD WHITBECK, west by land of STEPHEN JEROME and the highway the boundary between farm of land and lands of ISAAC LAMPMAN containing one hundred and seven acres of land more or less with the appurtenances and all the estate, title, and interest of the said parties of the first part therein. This grant is intended as a security for the payment of one thousand dollars lawful money five years from the first day of April next with the lawful interest thereon annually according to a condition contained in a certain bond bearing ______________ date with this indenture, which payments if duly made, will render this conveyance void, and if default shall be made in payment of the principal or interest above mentioned, then the said party of the second part, and his assigns are hereby authorized; pursuant to statute, to sell the premises above granted or so much thereof as will be necessary to satisfy the amount then due, with the costs and expenses allowed by law. In witness whereof, the said parties of the first part have hereunto set their hand and seal the day and year first above written.
