Zadock Dexter of Henderson, Jefferson Co. buys property in Cairo
This Indenture made the 26th day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred & fifty three between Zadock Dexter & Adaline R his wife of Henderson Jefferson County State of New York of the first part & John G. Prout of Cairo Greene County & State of New York of the second part Witnesseth that the two parties of the first part for & in consideration of the sum of two hundred & fifty dollars to them in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby Certified & acknowledged do grant bargain sell remise & grant claim unto the said party of the second part & to his heirs & assigns forever all that certain piece and parcel of land situated in the Village of Cairo & County of Greene being part of the lot of land lately purchased by Stephen Tryon & Isaac Bogardus of the administrators of Ira T. Day deceased commencing at the Freehold road 60 feet from the corner of the house on the North East end of the Village now occupied by George Whitcomb thence along 60 feet from & parallel with the fence to the Shingle Kill Creek, thence down & along the said Creek 65 feet thence a straight to the Freehold road thence along said Freehold Road 65 feet to the place of beginning thus making 65 feet in the front & rear of said lot which is intended to be hereby conveyed and the party of the first part warrant to defend against all lawful claims together with all & singular the hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining and the reversion & reversions remainder & remainders rents issues & profits thereof And also all the estate right title interest claim or demand whatsoever of the said party of the first part either in law or equity of in or to the above described premises with the said hereditaments & appurtenances To have & to hold the said premises above described to the said party of the second part his heirs & assigns to the sole & only use benefit & behoof of the said party of the second part his heirs assigns forever In witness thereof the said party of the first part have hereunto set their hands & seals the day and year first above written

State of New York Jefferson County SS Be it known that on the 26th day of January 1853 before me the subscriber appeared Zadock R Dexter & Adaline R his wife and acknowledged that they had severally executed the within instrument and the said Adaline on a private examination apart from her husband acknowledged that she executed the within instrument freely & without any fear or compulsion on the part of her husband And I further certify that I know the persons who made the said acknowledgement to be the individuals described in & who executed the within instrument
