This indenture made this sixteenth day of May one thousand eight hundred fifty five between Henry W. Briggs of Coxsackie, Greene County, State of New York of the first part and Olive Briggs of the same place of the second part. Witnesseth, that the said party of the first part for and in consideration of four hundred dollars to him duly paid by the said party of the second part hath, bargained, sold secured and quit claimed and by these presents do bargain sell secure and quit claim unto the said party of the second part, in actual possession now living, and to her heirs and assigns forever. All that certain piece or parcel of land situate at Coxsackie aforesaid bounded and described as follows to wit: Southerly by the highway leading from the Upper Landing to the Village or Street and by the property in possession of Jonas Parker and Hiram Gates, Easterly by what is called the Monger Property, Northerly by the lands of Henry Cooper on which his Brickyard is situate and Westerly by lands of Walter S. Stoubenburgh, the same premises owned and occupied by Caltern Briggs in his life time (i.e. the premises intended to be conveyed). This instrument is intended to convey all the right, title and interest which the said Henry W. Briggs has in and to the said premises as heir at law of Caltern Briggs, Deceased and no other interest, right or title containing about five acres of land more or less, with the appurtenances and all the whole, title and interest wherein the said party of the first part per witness hereof, the said party of the first part hath hereunto set his hand and seal this day and year first above written.
