This indenture made the first day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred thirty six between GEORGE C. REED and ESTHER, his wife and BENJAMIN N. BURROUGHS and BETSY, his wife of the town of Coxsackie, county of Greene, and state of New York of the first part and CALTERN BRIGGS of the second part witnesseth that the said parties of the first part in consideration of the sum of four hundred dollars to them in hand paid by the said party of the second part the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, have granted bargained sold released and conveyed and by these presents do grant bargain sell release and convey unto the said party of the second part all that piece of land situate lying and being at Coxsackie Upper Landing in the town, county and state aforesaid bounded as follows: beginning at the southeast corner on the west side of the Hudson River a high water mark and _________ as follows north eighty feet 10 inches, west three chains sixty one links along the ___________ of the lands of RICHARD I. NELLS to a notch in the fence about twelve feet north of the _________ said fence is on the east side of road leading from Reeds Landing to the Upper Landing thence north six degrees fifteen feet east two chains thirty eight links along said road to the northwest corner of this thence north eighty nine degrees ten east four chains forty links to a point being the northeast corner of this lot at high water mark thence south along said river to the place of beginning. The above is a part of the property formerly owned and occupied by JOSEPH STREET together with all the tenements, hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto belonging and the revisions and remainders unto _______and profits thereof and all the estate right title and interest in law or equity of the said parties of the first part of _______ and to the same to have and to hold the above granted premises with the appurtenances unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns to their own proper use and behoof forever and the said parties of the first part for themselves their heirs executors and administrators do hereby covenent with the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns the above granted premises with the appurtenances and the quiet and peaceably possession of the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns against all persons lawfully or equitably claiming or to claim the whole or any part thereof shall _________warrant and forever defend. In witness whereof the said parties to these presents have hereunto interchangeably set their hands and seals the day and year first above written.
