Know all men by these presents that I Nathan Clark for and in renumeration of the sum of three hundred and twenty five dollars to be paid by Benjamin Briggs, it being for the purchase of the land here within mentioned of William F. Salisbury do hereby declare and relinquish all claim right and title which I may have or do now possess by an account of two mortgages and particularly two certain mortgages the one accounted to me by William Maquire on August 17, 1838 and the other accounted by William S. Smith and Hannah his wife Aug. 5, 1835 to William Maquire and by the said Maquire afore mentioned on the 7th day of May 1837 to be that said Nathan Clark of and or to all that portion of the land in hand on said mortgage which has been lately purchased of said Smith by said Briggs and is bounded north by lands of said Smith west by the Albany and Greene Turnpike and south by lands of said Briggs and Thomas Allcot and east by the Hudson River said lot hereby released is one hundred feet in the width on the said land and continues of the same width easterly to the Hudson River together with the appurtenances and the said Briggs is hereby discharged from all encumbrances on said land in conveyance of the two said mortgages in ownership whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 9th day of January 1839.
