Chase Family Cemetery
Chase Family
Cemetery

The Chase Cemetery is located in the woods, on private property, near the intersection of State Route 23A and County Route 17 in the Town of Jewett, Greene County, NY. There is an old logging road, leading up the mountain, behind the first house northwest of the intersection. The walk is longer than the one to the Skiff Cemetery, but not as steep. On the right is a very large pine tree with branches coming out of its lower trunk. Here the stone wall that surrounds the cemetery can be seen on a hill above the logging road, but there is no visible path leading to it. There is an old, wooden turnstile at the gate, intended to keep cows out of the cemetery, and numerous fieldstones.
