"In the name of God, Amen. I, Johannes Bochout, of Rombouts Precinct, in Dutchess County, being weak in body, but of sound memory blessed be God do this twentys day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and Seventy macke and publish this to be my last Will and Testament in manner following that is to say I hereby order thall all my onnest Debts shall be paid and of my reall and percell Estate and my Sister Hester by my Executors hereafter named and the Overplus of my Goods and Chattels to be divided among my four Sons and four Dathers in the manner fowling. That is to say I give to my oldest Son Pieter for his Birtwrith the sum of five Pounds of lawful Money And then to be devid equally with his three Broderan that is to say my Sons John, Jacobus and Abraham that is to say after there is payed out of Goods and Chattles to my four Dafthers also four flow. To my Dafter Hester with the outset I gin her when shee whas merryed with that Vally to be made up to fifty Pounds. And also Mary with what I gin her when shee was merryed to be made up to fifty Pounds. And to my Dathers caled Margaret and Nansee each of them fifty Pounds of lawfull Money or in Valley than the remainder of all my Goods and Chattels land and Tenements to be eackquly devyed among my four Sons before mentioned except my oldist Sons Bartwrith afforesaid. And mack and ordain my loving Friends, John Cook, Marhand [Merchant?] in Rombouts precinct aforesaid and Joseph Thurstin of the same Place and Precinct to be Executors of this my Will in trust for the intents and Purposes in this my Will contained and for thire Pains that the shall be Reasonable Rewarded. In witteness whereof The said Johannis Bockhout have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand and Seal the Day and Year abovewritten Johannis "X" (his mark) Bockhout SIgned, Sealed and delivered by the said Johannis Bockhout as and for his last Will and Testament in the Presence of us who were present at the sigining and sealing thereof the Words and my Sister Hester where beore the sealing in the 5 line [?] the Signing and Sealing of this written Will in the Presence of us Thomas "X" (his mark) Johnson, Samuel Barker, Dutchess County.
Be it remembered that on the eleventh day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hudnred and Seventy one personally came and appeared before me Bartholomew Crannell, Surrogate of the said County, Samuel Barker of Rombout Precinct in the said County, Yeoman, and being duly sworn on his Oath declared that the same Johannis Bookhout sign and seal the within written Instrument purporting to be the Will of the said Johannis Bookhout bearing Date the twentyeth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred & seventy and heard him publish and declare the same to be and contain his last Will and Testament that at the time there of he thestified (?) Johannis Bookhout was of sound disposing mind and memory to the best of the knowledge and belief of him the Deponent and that his Name subscribed to the said Will is of his proper hand writing which he subscribed as a Witness to the said Will in the Testator's Presence and that he had aforesaid saw Thomas Johnson the other Witness to the said Will subscribe his name as a Witness thereto in the presence of the Testator.

The Right Honorable John Earl of Dunmore Captain's General and Governor in Chief in and over the province of New York and the Territories depending thereon in America, Chancellor and Vice Admiral of the same. To Isaac Vail Junior, of Rumbout Precinct in Dutchess County, Yeoman, principal Creditor of Johannes Bockhout late of the said County, Yeoman, deceased Sendeth Greeting. Whereas the said Johannis Bockhout in his life time made his last Will and Testament in writing bearing date twentieth day of August last and thereby appointed John Cooke and Joseph Thurston Executors thereof and soon after died. And whereas the said John Cooke and Joseph Thurston have by own Instrument in writing under their Hands and Seals bearing date the eighth day of February last relinquished and renounced their Right to the Executorship of the said Will as by the said Instrument filed in the Perogative Office of the said Province may appear. And whereas the said Will was afterwards on the elevent day of the said Month of February before Bartholomew Crannell, Esquire, Surrogate of the said County, duly proved and is now approved and allowed of by me. I desiring thereofre that the Goods, Chattels and Credits which were of the said Johannes Bockhout may be well and faithfully Administered converted and disposed of according to the true intent and meaning of his said Will (a copy where is hereunto annexed) Do grant unto you the said Isaac Vail Junior full Power to collect levy recover and receive all and singular the Goods, Chattels, Rights and Credits of the said Johannis Bookhout deceased and the same to administer and dispose according to the Tenor and Effect of his said last Will and as the Law directs being first in due form of Law to fulfil the Will of the said deceased and to pay his Debts and Legacies as far as his Goods, Chattels and Credits will thereunto extend and the Law bind you and also to make or cause to be made a true and perfect Inventory of all and singular the Goods, Chattels and Credits of the said deceased which have or shall come to your hands, Possession or knowledge and to exhibit the same into the Registry of the Perogative Court of this Province on or before the fourth day of September next ensuing and to render a just and true Account thereof when thereunto lawfuly required. And I do by these presents nominate constribute and appoint you the said Isaac Vail junior Administrator of all and singular the Goods, Chattels and Credits which were of the said Johannis Bookhout decised together with his Will annexed. In testimony whereof I have caused the Perogative Seal of the Province of New York to be hereunto affixed at the CIty of New York the fourth day of March one thousand seven hundred and seventy one."
