In the name of God Amen I Andrew German of the Town of Beekman in the County of Dutchess and State of New York being through the mercy of Almighty God of sound and perfect understanding and memory do constitute this my last will and testament and desire it may be received by all as such and first I hereby bequeath my Soul to God my maker, beging his acceptance through the merits and mediation of my Saviour Jesus Christ, I give my body to the Earth in full assurance of a Glorious Resurrection, as to my worldly estate I will and positively order that all my debts and other necessary charges be first paid out of my estate.
First I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Eleanor German one bed and bedding bedstead and cord and one set of curtains and all the household furniture which will be necessary and convenient for her use during her life then after her decease to be equally divided among my four children Henry German Nicholas German Andrew German Jun.r and my daughter Mary the wife of William Smith and I do give and bequeath to my son John German the sum of six hundred Dollars and I do enjoin at as a duty upon my executors hereafter named to keep the said legacy of my son John out to draw Interest for him in some safe hand and see that he has as much of the Interest or principal from time to time and at anytime as is necessary for him. I do not dispose of my landed Estate in this testament having heretofore disposed of them all by deed to my son Nicholas German and I do make it the duty of my son Nicholas German to provide for and take care of and furnish my beloved wife Eleanor German with all the necessaries of life and furnish her with two room in the house where I now live and I give and bequeath to my black servant Girl Sarah four linning sheets two flannel Sheets four blankets one chest on feather Bed and Straw Bed tick. And all the residue of my property of what name and kind, soever I give and bequeath to my four Children to be equally divided between them (Viz) Henry German Nicholas German Andrew German Jun.r and my daughter Mary the wife of William Smith and I do further will and direct that my Son John German live with either of my sons which he shall chuse or with my daughter Mary and desire that he may be will used and I do hereby constitute and appoint Edward Fuller and my son Nicholas German to be Executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me at any time heretofore made In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fifth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Eighteen.
