Located
at St. Marks and Church Streets in LeRoy.
Some bodies were moved to the newer LeRoy Cemetery.
This Cemetery is in very bad condition and lots of stone are

Huldah,
wife of Ury, d. April ?, 1844 @ 28y might be April 11, 1844
(Per Lois Curtiss - LoisCurtiss [at] yahoo.com - a correction
is needed: There is an error on the info for Huldah Curtis.
It states she was 28 years old, this is not correct. Huldah
was b. in Killingworth, CT Jan 19, 1771. Married Ury Curtis
or Curtiss, in 1891. When I was there in 1992, I read her stone
as died April 14, 1844. That would be 73 years. The info given
on your site as of age was 28 yrs old. You can see that is not
correct. Huldah would have been g, g grandmother. Now the 1953
Curtis-Curtiss Family Genealogy by Harlow D Curtis, p 56, stated
she died May 4, 1844. Her husband, Ury died in Benson, Rutland
Co, VT, Aug 19,1835. She came to Le Roy sometime as the census
of 1840 to be near her son, Azor Curtiss.
The stone that says 28 yrs which my notation states only the
bottom part of stone was just behind, Huldah. Their youngest
daughter, Laura, b. Jan 20, 1815, died Dec 8, 1843, married
a ___Wiiliams (1953 Curtiss, p 56). I took this 28 yrs as her
youngest dau, Laura. This would have been Azors sister.
However, Azor had a daughter, Sally, b. Mar 1, 1817 and died
Sep 10, 1843. This would make her 26 years. Her husband, Benonia
Ensign was of Perry, Wyoming Co, NY. He then married Sallys
sister, Cynthia. When Cynthia died in 1859, she d. in Perry,
Wyoming Co, NY. So my thought that is where Sally died.
On the footstones on the cemetery page, I noticed it said B
M L C. On Azor Curtiss lot, his dau, Betsy Currier had a stone
behind her stone that said B H L C. It is very clear on my photo
and that was Betsy.)
