LIVENGOOD, Donald R. "Bud" Jr. 2005 residence - Englewood, Fla., formerly of Maple Springs, N.Y. b. Sept. 28, 1921 Jamestown, NY. d. Monday, July 25, 2005 Venice, Fla. A careen officer, he retired as a major from United States Air Force following distinguished service at the Pentagon with the Joint Chief of Staff. He had been a bomber pilot during World War II where after being shot down was a prisoner of war for 13 months. A squadron commander during the Korean War, he later served as squadron commander in England. Sunset Hill Cemetery.

LLOYD, Jack W. 1995 residence - Sage Rd., Sinclairville. b. Aug. 31, 1923 Niagara Falls, NY. d. Nov. 29, 1995 Millard Fillmore Hospital, Buffalo, NY. A W. W. II veteran, he was a B-25 pilot in the U.S. Army Air Force Corps, serving from Feb. 16, 1943 to Oct. 3, 1945, where he was awarded the Air Medal with an Oak Leaf Cluster for service in North Africa, Italy and the China-Burma-India Theatres of the war. He was discharged as a lieutenant colonel in the Army Reserves with 29 years of service.

LORD, Clark Barrett Jr. b. Aug. 16, 1922. d. Feb. 15, 1971. Enlisted July 20, 1942. Participated in W. W. II. T/Sgt. Marine Corps. Discharged Jan. 6, 1946. Also in the Korean Conflict. Enlisted Jan. 8, 1951. AOU 1/c USNR V6. Discharged Sept. 19, 1951. Bemus Point Cemetery. Lot 150 G - 6.

LORD, Harry W. Jr. Residence - Fluvanna area. b. Oct. 25, 1923. d. was wounded in the battle of the Bulge and died in Aachen, Germany, Feb. 23, 1945. He was a member of the first All American Airborne Army, 508th Parachute Infantry, Eighty-Second Division. He entered the Army on April 8th, 1943 and trained at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri and was on maneuvers in Louisiana and Fort Kilmer, N. J. He left for overseas in June, 1943. He was wounded Oct. 1, 1944, and was hospitalized in England until December, when he again returned to his unit. In February he was again wounded and died in a field hospital in Aachen, Germany, on Feb. 23, 1945 He was buried in the Henri Chapelle Cemetery in Belgium. Body returned and buried in the Fluvanna Cemetery.

LOWN, Maurice E. "Bud". 2005 residence - 4742 Bemus-Ellery Road, Bemus Point, N.Y. b. Oct. 26, 1920 Jamestown, N.Y. d. Feb. 12, 2005 Erie Veterans Administration Hospital, Erie, Pa. Age 84. Served in World War II with the U. S. Air Force. He was stationed in Nome, Alaska. Bemus Point Cemetery.

He served as a captain with the 3rd Army Infantry Division in Europe under Gen. Patton from the time of the Normandy Invasion to VE-Day. He also served at Nuremberg during the Nuremberg Trials. He was one of the first officers to relieve the U.S. Forces at Bastogne. Between VE-Day and the Nuremberg Trials, he was one in a group that General Patton sent to liberate the Lippizaner Horses. He was wounded twice in battles and was decorated by both the U.S. and British governments for distinguished service. He was the most decorated Army officer from the Jamestown area, having received the Silver Star with Oak Leaf Clusters, the Bronze Star and the Distinguished Service Medal. Lake View Cemetery.
