1. JACOB2 LEACH (RICHARD1) was born 1763 in CT, and died 1843 Probably in Winfield, Herkimer Co,
NY. He married ELIZABETH WRISBURY.

ELLINGTON
In the Southeast part of town were the 4 LEACH brothers from Herkimer Co., NY, 3 of whom, James,
Amos and John were original purchasers in 1822 and perhaps Joseph, although his name does not appear as
such; James settled on Lot 18 but moved to PA; John on lot 10, where he died several years ago and where
James ANDERSON, his son-in-law now resides....Enfield, his son is a merchant in Randolph. Amos
settled on lot 1. His son Amos C. resides on this homestead. Warren, another son, died in the naval service
in the late war. Joseph settled on lot 11 where he died. His widow and son Aaron live on this farm. His son
Joseph resides in Cattaraugus Co.

Notes for AMOS LEACH:
Amos & Roxanna Married about 1821 and shortly after their son was born they migrated to Ellington in
Chautuqua County.

1825- Amos bought land from Willink & Co. in Ellington, Lot 11, Town 3, Range 10. Deed recorded in
Vol 5, page134.

They appear in the 1830 Federal Census.

1845- Amos bought land from John Duer & Co. in Ellington, Lot 18, Town 3, Range 10. Recorded in Vol
31, page 147.
