 Isaac Laughton was born Isaac Isaiah Lawton (name was misspelled on 1820 Census) 25 July 1794 in RI.  Isaac's parents were Isaac Lawton and Martha Sherman. 
He married "Jennie" Jane Green abt 1818, place unknown, but probably NY.  Jane born 25 Jun 1800 Francestown, NH, daughter of Francis Green and Esther Hogg.    
By 1819, we know Isaac I. and Jane were settled in Cattaraugus Co., NY  as this is where all 13 children were born:

  2. James, 
  3. Mary J., 
  4. Chauncey William, 
  5. Elizabeth, 
  6. Isaac Richard,
  7. Francis George,
  8. David Elwell, 
  9. Henry J., 
  10. Diamond, 
  11. Benjamin Wellington, 
  12. George Washington,
  13. and Caroline.  
By the mid 1840's this family, except for son James, moved westward; Isaac Isaiah and Jane settling in Vernon Co., Wisconsin with some of the children while others of the children did or later did move on to the state of Washington.

Isaac Isaiah died 9 June 1869 and Jane died 1 May 1870.  Both are buried Lawton Cemetery, LaFarge, Vernon Co., WI.  
Isaac Isaiah Lawton's line of descent: Thomas Lawton (the original immigrant by 1638 to RI from England), Daniel, Adam, Adam, Peleg, Isaac, Isaac I. Lawton.
