Three days after their arrival in England, Rebecca's new husband suddenly abandoned her, taking most of her property. This article by Michael K. Ward, a Rawson descendant, appeared in the New England Journal of History, Fall 1999, Volume 56 No. 1. Contains two 19th-century line art reproductions of the Edward and Rebecca Rawson paintings.
