My name is Kathy Garner and I am an amateur family historian. I'm presently about to research my grandfather's uncle. I really don't know where to start. His name was HENRY MCCORMACK. He was born in Nov 14, 1869 at Troon, Scotland. His parents were WILLIAM and ANNIE MCCORMACK. Family heresay is that Henry jumped ship when he was docked at Halifax. He lived at either Vashon or Forchu, N.S. Apparently, he settled and began a very successful fishing business with quite a fleet of boats. I don't know when or where Henry died. I don't know if he'd had any offspring. Where should I start in all this? If you have any advice, I'd be very greatful. Thank you for reading this. Sincerely, Kathy Garner |
