          [They may have adopted Sarah Tupper (5/11/1876) and Leonard (1881) Tupper. the relationship in the census of 1891 is shown as "L" which probably means lodger.  Sarah was still living with them in the census of 1901.
          The children's parents were George and Amanda Tupper (Amanda died in April of  1888) - JD]
