Township Book of Aylesford 1822: "Ezekiel Foster married Elizabeth Dugan 5 Sept. 1822 and hath Issue:" see census 1838: age over 14 [Sometime between Jan 1806 and March 1808 they began spelling Dugan with two gs (Duggan). It could be that all the gg entries were made on the same day and similiarly misspelled but this happened sporatically in the 1800s and late 1700s, usually to deny being Irish. William Dugan (1817-1872) changed it back to Dugan, his son John Duggan (1862-1943) made this change again when he was working in Boston probably not to be confused with the Potatoe famine Irish.
