            [St Mary's Anglican was a missionary post before 1817 and had no regular rector.  In the early period, before 1790 when St Mary's was built, the area was served by St John's Anglican, Cornwallis. After 1790 it was served by Wilmot Trinity Anglican.  However all the events probably actually occured at St Mary's and the minister travelled rather than the people.  Edwin Gilpin noted in 1817 that there was a "small book" attached to the main register which recorded births and marriages in Aylesford.  I haven't been able to locate that book - JD]
          census 1838: total in family = 6
          Kings County Probate Records 1814:
            DUGAN John, Aylesford,, 15 Aug 1814*;
                  DUGAN Margery-Mrs, wife.
            [where a death date was not recorded the testamentary date was used and is identified with an asterisk*. In other cases this date is a good approximation of death date, in this case it's very poor.  It's possible that "1814" should be "1844" or "1841" since he was in the 1838 census but not in the 1851 census  - JD]
