My grandfather, James Manning PURDY, born July 31, 1894 in Plymton, Digby County, Nova Scotia died March 24, 1932 in Digby, Digby County, Nova Scotia. His father Alexander PURDY (born June 7, 1866) maried unknown name and widowed before 1901, children would include sons James Manning (born 1894) and Stephen (born June 18, 1898) and daughter Flossie (Florence) PURDY unknown birth date. Alexander's father has been traced to Obadiah PURDY (born 1808) who married Madgaline (Madeline MELANSON ?)(born 1818 or 1823?) and had children James H.(born 1845), Joseph (born 1849), Stephen (born 1851), Alexander (born 1866), Rachel (1857) and Alice (born 1860). I have been unable to trace past Obediah and his family connections. If there is anyone with information that would connect with what I have, I would be interested in hearing from you.
