Burton (Junior) Dixon, 18, of Oxford, lost his life in a one-car accident at Collingwood on Friday night.

Died at Saskatoon, Sask., Mrs. Margaret Mitchell, 81, a former resident of Westchester Station.

Died at Bras D'Or, Cape Breton, Bert Carroll, 39, formerly of Oxford.

At the annual closing of N.S. College of Art on May 9, Miss Barbara Jackman of Pictou and formerly of Oxford, was awarded the Elizabeth Crabtree Nut Memorial Prize as the best woman painter of the year at the college.

Died at Pugwash River on May 12, William L. Lynds, age 60.

Mr. & Mrs. J. Frank Smith of Pugwash have resigned as superintendent and matron of Cumberland Home, Pugwash on May 12, after 12 years service. Mr. Smith has accepted a similar position at the new Municipal home in Halifax County.

Rev. L. Carl Swan, son of Mr. & Mrs. M.A. Swan, Oxford was admitted to the Holy Orders of Priest at St. James Cathedral, Toronto on May 19.

Died at Gulf Shore recently, Mrs. Catherine McLeod, age 100.

Tatamagouche Creamery, is manager of the new Malagash Creamery.
Clayton Lank, a native of Campobello, was drowned last Thursday at Gulf Shore when his boat struck a reef while returning with a catch of lobsters.

Millard Trenholm of Pugwash, deckboy on the C.N.S. Champlain, rescued a Norwegian sailor from drowning at Halifax recently. This is the third near-drowning tragedy Trenholm has averted.
