Died - Grace Evangeline SELDOMRIDGE, 73, West Pugwash, January 22 in North Cumberland Memorial Hospital.

Died - Myrta Rosemond THOMPSON, 84, Wallace, January 28 in Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital, Tatamagouche.

Bobby MATTINSON, 15-year-old son of Garnet and Rose Mattinson, Oxford, and goal tender with the Oxford Midget Colts, died in Moncton City Hospital Saturday night as the result of a hockey related accident in Springhill during the third period of a Minor Hockey Week game there.

Died - William Simon FRASER, 90, of Oxford, on January 16 at the home of his daughter, Laura Dempsey, Herring Cove, Halifax County.

Died - John David MACINTOSH, 91, Wallace Bay, formerly of Malagash on January 20 in North Cumberland Memorial Hospital, Pugwash.

Last Thursday morning, a good sized muskrat was seen walking down Rideau Street in Oxford.

Ralston DOBSON, son of Mr. and Mrs. Aubrey Dobson, Oxford, is the new merchandising manager of Stedman's Store, Springhill.

Died - Carman R. CHASE, 72, at his home in Thomson on January 16.

Rev. Bruce TAYLOR of Oxford, superintendent of the Canada Atlantic District of the Church of the Nazarene, has also been appointed superintendent of the 40 Ontario and Quebec churches.

The price of chocolate bars has increased from 6c to 7c.

Mrs. Elmer PATTERSON received $200 for her photo at Foto-Nite at the Capitol Theatre, Oxford on January 25.

A truck loaded with logs broke through the ice at Folly Lake on January 29. It was driven by Wyman PORTER and owned by Glennie Lumber Co. It has been removed from the lake.

Died at Edmonton, Alberta, on January 30, Dr. W.H. HILLS, 84, brother of J.E. Hills and Mrs. Bessie Blair of Oxford.

Died at Oxford on January 23, Mrs. Rufus HALLIDAY.

The congregations of Trinity United and Baptist Churches, with their
pastors Revs. Dr. A.S. ROGERS and H.B. TAYLOR, joined with St. James Presbyterian congregation to honour Rev. E.G.B. FOOTE, who preached his farewell sermon on the eve of his departure for Halifax, where he will serve as chaplain with the R.C.N.

Died at Port Howe on January 20, Robert DICKSON, age 84.

Died at Lower Gulf Shore on January 20, Mrs. Arabella ROSS, age 78.

Mildred PEERS, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Peers, Pugwash, recently received the diploma of registered nurse.

D.E. MAYNE has moved his barber shop from the Hills building to the Amos building.

The final game for the Hingley Cup was won by skip Dr. F.F. BENT over skip J.I. THOMPSON by a score of 14-9.

Pugwash Jct. egg producers met January 13 in Hartford School when the following officers were elected: pres., Alex HARRISON; vice., Ira CRAWFORD; manager and sect'y, G.G. MCKIM; directors, W.L. BROWN, Ernest NELSON, Ashford CRAWFORD, Sam MCKIM, Frank LEASK.

Died at All Saints Hospital, Springhill on January 27, Layton MILLER, 14-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Miller, Oxford, following a shooting accident.

Died at Westchester on January 23, Mrs. Matilda NELSON, age 92.
